Abstract:
The thesis focused on the study of different types of faults using Mat lab program and the algorithm based on Z matrix in calculation of faults on power system and study the effect of harmonics and its contribution in short circuit.
Firstly we introduce the harmonics and its effect on different component in power system and in the succeeding chapters we introduce different types of faults, symmetrical faults, unsymmetrical faults and simultaneous faults.
Finally we introduce the effect of harmonics on protection relays and the programs used in the study.
