Wireless Control of Unmanned Ground Vehicles

Title: Wireless Control of Unmanned Ground Vehicles
Author        : Abd-Allah Mohamed Abd-Allah Bahassan
Collection   : M.Sc. Electric
Abstract:
This thesis is devoted to the design of a low cost and high accuracy Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) robot.
This type of robot is generally capable of operating over a wide variety of terrains. It can also perform tasks in a hazardous environment, reducing the risks and threats of human beings and neutralizes them against enemy force activity, including chemical and biological agents with speed and accuracy.
The UGV used two communication platforms Radio Frequency (RF) and Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi).
This allows to construct an easy prototype of remote UGV ability to control the movement, gun, light, send real-live video and receive orders or transmit data between it and base station.
Furthermore, it can be controlled manually or autonomously. It has many potential applications, in both military and civilian areas, such as reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition, search, rescue, and exploration. Interfacing and controlling different elements of UGV using microcontroller technology is
presented.
